Best-in-class performance

• 8020 is our largest machine (at 2.1 tonnes) that can be legally towed by a standard 4x4 vehicle. (please check vehicle handbook for maximum towing limit).
• Superior dump height, dig depth, bucket and dipper tearout forces, and engine power result in a highly productive machine.
• Tier III Perkins engine is cleverly repositioned to aid weight distribution and allow fuel and hydraulic tanks to be located at the rear, eliminating the need for excessive counter weighting.
• The machine features twin-speed auto kickdown tracking, a larger boom (140mm bigger than other 801 series machines) and large capacity pump, all as standard
• A hydraulically extendable undercarriage and extended counterweight (by 100mm) give increased lift capacity and stability.

Build Quality

• Tubular boom design is stronger and more durable than a traditional fabricated style; it has been subjected to almost twice the usual strength testing (over one million cycles).
• This boom is lighter, helping to reduce transportation weight.
• Boom also provides protection against site damage for the dig-end hoses, which are routed through it.
• Cast slew frame is unique on this size of machine and gives increased rigidity throughout the whole upper-structure.
• Cast design is also more versatile than a fabricated structure and avoids the need for extra material, normally used for strengthening purposes.

Best-in-class controllability and cab

• Increased servo-control functionality is easy to operate and achieves precise results, whether using the excavator or dozer, or in-line tracking.
• Isolated cab/canopy along with a one-piece plastic seat base reduce noise and vibration.
• When raised, the isolator pod - made of aluminium castings for strength - isolates the track levers as well as all servo controls, for safer entry/exit.
• Large cab glass area and narrow boom design increase visibility.
• A wealth of standard equipment includes ROPS/TOPS certified canopy, full audio/visual warning systems, slew travel lock and external, lockable toolbox which can easily hold a grease gun, cartridge and tools.
